IMTM at the final STRIKE Scientific Meeting and International Conference on Precision Medicine in Messina

From 2 to 4 July 2026, the University of Messina will host the International Conference on Precision Medicine and Final STRIKE Scientific Meeting, organised jointly by the University of Messina and COGENTECH within the STRIKE Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network.

The event will bring together researchers, clinicians, industry experts, and early-stage researchers from across Europe and beyond for three days of scientific exchange focused on precision medicine, nanotherapeutics, translational oncology, liquid biopsy, and cancer diagnostics. The conference also marks an important milestone for the STRIKE consortium as the project enters its final phase, providing an opportunity to reflect on the scientific progress, collaborations, and training activities developed throughout the network.

The scientific programme will feature keynote lectures and presentations addressing current challenges and innovations in oncology and biomedical research, including liquid biopsy technologies, immune reprogramming strategies, osteosarcoma therapeutics, drug delivery systems, and the growing role of artificial intelligence in academic research and scholarly publishing.

Scientific sessions on 3 July will focus particularly on translational and interdisciplinary approaches in nanomedicine and cancer therapy. Early-stage researchers from partner institutions across the STRIKE network will present their latest work on magnetic nanoplatforms, targeted drug delivery, osteosarcoma models, ferritin-mediated transport mechanisms, radiolabelling, and advanced molecular profiling techniques.

IMTM and Palacký University Olomouc will be represented by doc. RNDr. Václav Ranc, PhD, and Sunčica Sukur, MSc. As part of the conference programme, Sunčica, one of the doctoral candidates involved in this network will present her research on “Synthesis and Characterisationof Magnetic Nanoplatforms as Active Drug Carriers”, which forms part of both the STRIKE project and her PhD research.

Beyond the scientific programme, the meeting in Messina will provide an important opportunity for networking, international collaboration, and discussions on future research directions and the long-term impact of the STRIKE consortium.
