Esteemed scientist from Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg (US) Dr. Wyatt N. Vreeland visited University of Palacky

On Wednesday the 2nd of April 2015, Dr. Wyatt N. Vreeland, recognized expert in the field of chemistry and biotechnology from the Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg US  (http://www.nist.gov) was invited to visit Institute of Molecular and Translation Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Palacky University (IMTM).  IMTM was the official host of Dr. Vreeland’s visit to the University. During Dr.Vreeland’s one week stay he had the opportunity to experience other research centers at Palacky University, including the Centre of Region Hana (http://www.cr-hana.eu) and Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials (http://www.rcptm.cz). He was also invited to visit the rector’s office, where he was accompanied by the vice-rector prof. Jitka Ulrichová. 

Dr. Vreeland also gave a lecture at the IMTM in Olomouc focused on microfluidic-directed assembly of nuclear medicine nanoparticles for positron emission tomography (PET) applications. The lecture was followed by an open discussion with staff and students of the University. Dr. Vreeland’s extensive knowledge has been an great informative experience to all who attended. It has been a privilege to host Dr. Vreeland here in Olomouc and to give him a tour of our laboratories and to meet with our researchers. Dr. Vreeland speaks at various venues within Czech Republic during the months of March and April.
