Center of competence for molecular diagnostics and personalized medicine

1. To create a common platform to take the existing potential biomarkers and innovative molecular diagnostics to a higher level of development and production, which will lead to the commercialisation of particular products; 2. To create a productive process of research and development for future projects (product "pipeline"), which will enable their further development and commercialisation; 3. To develop new methodical approaches in the academic, medical and commercial sphere of cooperation with the aim of improving the competitiveness of their services on the market; 4. To improve and broaden the possibilities of the participating university hospitals, as the main regional referential facilities for advanced diagnostics and personalized medicine; 5. To educate undergraduate and postgraduate students and attract young scientists by providing them with intellectually and technically stimulating settings, including exchange programmes for students and scientists between the academic sphere and industry; 6. To offer technical knowledge for biotechnological, chemical and pharmaceutical industry in the area of biomarkers, and to create opportunities for the development of innovative companies in the country 7. And also to support the existing cooperation and integration into the European and global research initiatives.
