One of the targets in the search for prognostic and predictive biomarkers in oncology is genetic and cytogenetic changes that can control or influence cell proliferation and differentiation. These changes may be tumor-specific or occur across different proportions of different malignancies. The aim of this work will be to identify and describe known or less known genetic markers and to consider their suitability for routine testing also in other diagnoses.
